Sail Chat- Saturday 16th May-Sunbury Rally

Five boats, two Merlins, 2 comets and a GP14 took part in this

year's Sunbury rally.

Despite a forecast of a light westerly wind which the duty team felt

would cause the sailors some difficulty especially getting through

the cut at Platt's Eyot up to and then beyond the Aquarius reach.

Fortunately by the time the boats were sailing the wind had

freshened considerably and all the boats completed the course

without outside assistance.

1 st was Stuart Jenkins crewed by Nicola, finishing less than half a

minute on handicap ahead of Phil Dalby.

As per usual a super tea on the lawn at Nigel and Ellen's, although

given how cold and windy it was most people sensibly took shelter

in the boat house.
