Sail Chat - 27th April 2025

Saturday the Round the Island Race was a resounding success with a very good turn out of boats, a gentle easterly and very fine catering organised by Ellen and Emily. Nigel and Graham officiated and ran a well ordered pursuit race round three tree island. The club tables were very tastefully decorated with lovely roses, also enjoyed on Sunday. I don't think it overstates that the Comets dominated with Philip first and George second, I think a rather noisy Merlin came third.

On Sunday the forecasted high had truly settled over us and the faint breeze performed some strange tricks. John Hollands and James Moirano were the race team. Only two out AM an Ent and a Comet, who only just crawled over the line. In the afternoon more joined in with two Ents, four GP's Bells, Phillips, Andersons and Mays and two Merlins, along with a brief show of Elise in her smart new RS Aero. The breeze fluctuated considerably and at times died upstream. This did not suit the more ample helms and crews. Nice licky tea by Deirdre and Fabby.
