Sail Chat 4th October
Morning Handicap
It was predicted to be a misty day, but by 11 am glorious rays of sunshine illuminated the sky. Only
one boat for the morning race and Tim H-S at the helm, and a fabulous sail he had too, completing
five laps at an average of 10-12 minutes a lap.
Afternoon Points Race
The Duty Officer, James, decided to start all boats together in the afternoon, with Dave G, Phil D,
George ably crewed by Chris and Tim H_S all out in their Comets, and Roger out in his Laser with six
laps to sail for. There was a steady breeze and a thoroughly manageable stream, which gave for a
very pleasant sail for all participants with Phil D taking an early lead and retaining it throughout the
race.
Tea
After all the activity a very welcome tea was provided for all by Sonia, with the choice of tuna or egg
mayonnaise sandwiches available and a yummy lemon drizzle and chocolate brownies. Perfect for a
bit of post sailing camaraderie.
All in all
A glorious autumnal afternoon for sailors, duty team members, and spectators alike.
