Even with the promise of some wind in the end only 5 boats set off to try to sail against a rapidly increased current. Phill & Jane in their Enterprise and George in his Comet very nearly got to the top mark but in the end the DO's Stewart and Ian decided to Abandon the race.

Some 40 however enjoyed a great buffet.
