Club Fleets

If you are interested in a particular fleet we will be happy to arrange for you to talk to the fleet captain about their fleet and introduce you to some of the fleet members. A number of other boats race in our handicap fleet so if your boat is not listed below, then please contact us uisingh the "Contact section"

The main fleets at the club are:

Merlin Rocket

The ultimate hiking dinghy for two people. Our fleet is a highly competitive and social fleet, and the Merlins enjoy travelling the country to compete at all levels and also enjoy the highly social Salcombe Week. It involves a great bunch of people young and old and you have fun on the water and ashore. Follow the link for more information on Merlin Rocket sailing.

Enterprise

Come and join one of the friendliest fleets of the club - you can be sure that no matter what your skill level, you'll always have someone to enjoy the sport with. The Enterprise fleet is always looking forward to welcoming new members. Regardless of whether it is for competitive sailing or not, our sailors are always keen to hit the water and offer the kinship and experience that has made the Enterprise fleet at Hampton a popular group. The Enterprise is a perfect river dinghy, its excellent qualities both as a cruising and racing boat with that lovely blue sail make it perfect for light or strong winds.

GP 14

This is the perfect boat for those who want to enjoy river sailing but without having to hike out and constantly duck! Our GP14 is very active both on and off the water and so if you are missing those heady days and want to get back on the water, this is the perfect fleet for you.

Handicap

The Hampton fleet is the largest at the Club with over 17 in the boat park including Comets, Lasers, Solos and Toppers. Fleet members vary in age from early teens to early 80's and contain a wide variety of standards.

If you 're not sure which type of dinghy will suit your needs then visit the Which Boat to Sail website.
