Very hot day with a light northerly on the morning of Sunday 27th August. Sensible short course set by Jonno, fetch to H Surrey, beat to H (or I if you want) and then a broad reach to F. Only Jane with Annie, me with Jane N and Peter partaking, with no incidents.
In the afternoon we had four Enterprises, Ian (single handed), Sophie (newly qualified from Rockley, Poole), Ben and Jane N and me with ocean going Brian. Whilst the vane on the church stayed immobile pointing north we had it in various directions and Ian sailed immaculately to a well deserved win and on handicap.
In the GP’s were John with Peter, Derek with Dave Sammons , George with Sue and Keefy with Stevie G. Almost rudderless sailing performed by Keefy and a spectacular stall by George at the windless mark.
Only one in the handicap but such a one! Another graduate from Poole resplendent in ‘Fencepost’ – our very own Ben who sailed to victory.
Strawberry tea followed and then the usual wets and chat. Good support as always at these times including Auntie Ann from down-under.
