True to to type weather conditions returned to HSC on Saturday and Sunday with hot sunshine and light winds. Saturday was Pirates day so a real bonanza for the young. It was officiated by a real Capn Sparrow, look a like, Ian, with the most amazing outfit accompanied by fellow cut throat and wrecker Ben ( no one tell the Andrew!). High spot for me was the take on the chicken and grain game, changed to Crocodile, Cabin Boy and Bottle of Rum. It developed into a bit of a water battle enjoyed as much by the big and small kids.

Sunday brought the same light and fickle winds but a good show in the morning as five GP’s, three Ents and one Merlin took to the water. Our new boats and willing volunteers helping to swell the fleet.

In the afternoon the GP’s once again dominated with Derek and Mary, Kevin with Maddie, John and Ali, Keith with Andrew and Tim with Claude, a tight race and even tighter finish. Mary’s sinuous crewing movements contributing to a merited win.

One Merlin out Rob and Jo and Nigel now in his Solo. Just two Ents but with buckets of experience and glamour in each boat. Jane with Amelia and Ellen with me!

Great flag waving (flying) and honking by the Aviator and his team of off shore racer Tim and Nicci. EBFRO index 3 to 4.

Magnificent tea by Livvy and Rachel; five star cake. We all sang for Keith and it was worth it he bought us all a drink.

Apologies if I missed anyone. See you next week with hopefully a few more of my fleet out?
