Sunday 20th August dawned with apparently little wind but at about 1100 a nice south westerly came in of about 10 to 12 mph as forecast. Those still abed must take note, the wind is a fickle thing.
Takers were the HSSOTP in his Solo, the Master, Brian Fenceposting, Jane C with Jane N and Ra with me, in Enterprises. Really pleasant sail with some interesting puffs which caused the occasional exclamation in our boat. Windward leeward course E to I set by experienced veteran George. No incidents just a prossecco sail!
Lunch when Tony is on the bar is usually an amusing time and we were not disappointed.
In the afternoon the wind became more fickle and lighter there were two Merlins, Alex driving Nigel’s boat with Nigel and John with ace crew Deidre. Ben with Bruv, Jane with Brian, Chris and Timmy (fresh from la la land) and me with Ra in Enterprises. Only one GP John with Ali and in the handicap fleet just David Solo, a rare sighting indeed John Heath perched upon a Laser and Rob with Jo joining in with their Merlin.
Sumptuous tea from Chris and Ellen and usual bar induced merriment.
The Commodore gave one of his fact filled contributions-so view your programme or on the web for upcoming events.
See you next week. Phill
