Bright morning which gradually clouded over with a light south westerly, which faded to nearly nothing, then after we had all finished there came a downpour. On the first grid five Enterprises (that’s better fleet-encore!) Chris with Alexandra, Ian and Amelia, Me with Connie, Sophie and Jane and Duncan with Annie (welcome back). Quite a long course which did for some of us when the wind died. In the GP’s were John and Ali, Keith and Susan and Derek with Mary, all had fun at J mark!
In the Merlin fleet Stuart and Nicky, Hywell with the delightful Austin and John with Deidre. The Hon Sailing Secretary was the lone Handicapper and performed a surprising walking finish in his Solo.
Race team was Philip Dalby and Tom Perkins, time was by Sue and Maureen and excellent lunch fare was by George and Robert. Tom and Alan did the bar. Austin tied many bowlines and Arthur was just his brother. Not a particularly sparkling sail but better than the F9 the day before I suppose.
I have the honour of catering with Anastasia next week so be there or be square!
