We drive to Itchenor on Chichester Harbour on Saturday 2nd August 2014 and meet on the large slip there, it will be large because low water is at 09:07 and I hope we will all be there by at the latest 10:00. We then set sail for Emsworth, sailing right round the beautiful harbour as it will lowish water I suggest we stick roughly to the channel markings except Keith that is! We will only go if the wind is of a suitable strength, our fall back position is a run up to Dell Quay when the tide has filled up a bit is and there is a nice Pub up there too and a welcoming Sailing Club.
At Emsworth we usually pull our boats up on to the seaweed on the slip there. As it may still be a bit low-ish we may have to go on the pontoon which is seaward of the slip by about 500 metres and is served by a causeway. So we can walk to the Pub which is a Fullers House and usually serves nice crab sandwiches and of course London Pride (The Coal Barge I think). High Water, which is a few days off HW Springs, is at 16:14 therefore we really need to be away from Emsworth no later that 14:30, otherwise we have to punch the tide hard up near the Bosham Channel.
Lunch is in the Pub but we usually have a Hampton Bring Your Own Tea in the car park so please bring a contribution and some mossie repellant. All are welcome there are some lovely walks, coffee shops and sights of historic interest in the area.
Any photographs of the rally please pass on to Karen for the website.
Hope to see you there.
